5th JANUARY 2012
Happy New Year from all of us here at Barbour HQ! Here's to a prosperous and healthy 2012 with plenty of 4x4 excitement..
I know things have been a little quiet over here at Barbour news so we are pleased to add a few extra bits and pieces to the website. Now that the new workshops are almost complete a Series Three 4x4 was finished by the end of 2011. The build has been recorded extensively with photographs and these can be viewed in the Technical pages. Louis and Ante have done an incredible job with this Croatian car.
We have also added some photos of the Crapadeuche Trophy in 2011 and of the Barbour sponsored Paris Persepolis Paris 2011 raid. The latter being completed succesfully within the same time constraints as the original raid in 1971. More info HERE
We are looking forward to Morvan TT Deuche in France this year during Easter where we will be taking a 'new' Barbour 4x4 called Fred. This is part owned by Team Barbour and has been saved from rot. It happens to be one of the original Series One cars but doesn't lack any of that awesome ability!
22nd APRIL 2011
Its been a while since any news from Barbour 4x4 but we can assure you we are still here! Barbour 4x4 is still in a transitional period and once certain workshop materials and equipment are in place we will be able to supply parts for customers.
Therefore due to moving the workshop, summer holidays, world meetings and 2cv raids, chassis production and various metal parts has been temporarily halted. We should be up and running by October with some new changes, including new tooling and chassis jigs.
Diff locks are all in stock as will be 4x4 transmission parts from May.
In the future we will produce web based manuals for home kit builders and more technical information will be available on the web site.
Photos from this years Crapadeuche Trophy in Belgium will be posted soon.
A lot to look forward to plus more videos and a possible Barbour sponsored raid in the summer...
8th NOVEMBER 2010

Our 'Event Season' has pretty much drawn to a close now for 2010, and what a year its been! The last event we attended with a UK contingent was in Daigny, France. This was the first time this had been organised for 2CV's and with wonderful sunshine the weekend was fantastic. The area had a varied amount of obstacles as well as woodland tracks. Plenty for all the cars. A huge thank you goes to the RAID 2CV TEAM who organised a fantastic event. A few photographs can be found in the GALLERY. There will be some video footage from studioru in due course.
Unfortunately we could not attend this years Villevenard meeting in France... However we do hear that it was, as usual, an awesome weekend. Please take a chance to watch Jisse Raid's excellent slideshow on the GALLERY page
29 SEPTEMBER 2010

A couple of Barbour 4x4 cars attended the ABINGDON 4X4 FESTIVAL 2010. This event is an extremely well organised off road 'celebration' with all profits going to charity. They have an excellent off road course of roughly five miles in length. There are easy and hard sections so that all cars from road versions to 4x4 monsters can enjoy themselves.
Needless to say the reaction the Barbour cars got was quite amazing. Nobody could quite believe their eyes as we managed to tackle the hard parts of the course. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the atmosphere was very friendly. As the pictures and various video materialise we will post links on the website. In the meantime here is a video showing the 2CV's near the beginning of the footage VIDEO
We will definitely return in 2011!
2 JULY 2010
After an excellent French National 2CV meeting in France we are currently testing the Barbour 4x2 chassis over in Belgium. Presently the chassis is being fitted to future raid cars and possibly a KATAR. We will post photographs and update you on this when we have more information. Thank you to everyone who came over and said hello to us at the Flea Market. It was great to meet so many of you and answer your queries.
Already fitted to some of our Barbour cars are the QUAIFE DIFFS with great success. For more information on these please CONTACT us.
Our next meeting is in the UK in August: THE 2CVGB INTERNATIONAL
19 APRIL 2010
After two excellent events (Crapadeuche Trophy in Belgium and Morvan TT Deuches in France) we are now busily preparing for the French National 2CV meeting in Caen (12-16 May 2010). 17 FEBRUARY 2010
We are proud to announce that Barbour 4x4 Ltd will, in the next few months, be able to produce (in association with Quaife) a Limited Slip Differential for 2CV gearboxes. Built to extremely high standards this product will fit any 2CV gearbox on a 2WD vehicle as well as the rear gearbox in a 4WD converted vehicle.
We are hoping to get a sample to show at this years Morvan TT Deuches event in France (3-5 April 2010). In the meantime please EMAIL us for more information and to confirm you interest.

Happy New Year!
Here at Barbour 4x4 we wish you all a prosperous and enjoyable 2010. A new decade is upon us and we are very excited about the year ahead.
Our plans for new 2WD chassis' have already been put into place and construction is starting. 4x4 kit improvements are being discussed and parts sourced. We are also going to add a small amount of merchandise and team wear to the site.
We have two events already in the diary; Morvan TT Deuches 2010 and the French National Meeting 2010. We will be setting up our display tent at the French National Meeting so please put the date in your diary and come and say hello.
On a more sombre note, Rupert's planned trip to Cameroon by 2CV has been called off. Unfortunately the Foreign Office stopped all charity rallies from driving through Mauritania due to the very real terrorist threats from Al Qaeda.. To read an official statement from Rupert then please go HERE
1 DECEMBER 2009
We had a fantastic trip over to France for this years Villevenard 2CV 4x4 meeting. There was good weather, excellent driving conditions and a healthy turnout of cars. The event is certainly building and the atmosphere was superb. Barbour 4x4 took over three cars from the UK and all performed extremely well. There will be a video in the New Year of our trip but for now please have a look at the photos from Bart van Wijngaarden. More info on the GALLERY page.
With Christmas and New Year on the horizon we will be taking a break from events and will come together early in 2010. We have the usual plans to visit Morvan and the French 2CV National Meeting but also to arrange some UK based events where everyone will be welcome to join us.
In the meantime you can follow the Barbour 4x4 sponsored 2CV being driven from England to Cameroon. More info on the TRAVEL page.
